For a digital agency looking to scale, a strategic roadmap and new resources were needed in order to reach growth goals envisioned by the agency owner.

Co-founder Lou Kotsinis turned to Kelly Campbell for creative agency scaling in order to identify opportunity within target markets, increase online visibility and attract ideal clients, expand resources and increase profitability.


BCS Interactive knew how to provide high quality web and digital marketing services for the clients it served—the team had been doing so since 2003—but how to take the agency to the next level wasn’t as clear-cut. Kelly’s work addressed three critical challenges for BCS Interactive:

• Lack of industry/vertical focus from which to identify opportunity:
While the agency can and has worked with clients in myriad sectors and sub-sectors, a generalist approach to service offerings makes it difficult to scale. Until the cross-section of “what you’re great at” and “what you’re passionate about” is clear, an agency cannot research untapped opportunity within that realm.

• Resources limited ability to take on specific projects/retainers:
Talented individuals and a leader who cares equally about clients and staff, makes for a great team. But when more robust web projects and campaign/marketing retainers are the goal, the team must become elastic—through strategic service partnerships that enable additional resources to be allocated at a moment’s notice.

• Accountability and support for creative leadership:
A roadmap is only as good as its implementation. Without continuous accountability and ongoing support for questions and situations that arise—as they always will—reaching envisioned goals will take longer than projected.


After a few conversations and the CEO Intake which Kelly had Lou complete, areas in need of improvement in order to scale were brought to light. After a deep dive session by phone, Kelly created an Agency Roadmap + Growth Plan for BCS Interactive, which became a living, breathing document for Lou’s vision for the agency. The latter was presented in-person over several hours, and Kelly helped Lou work through a series of questions he had formulated. Kelly connected Lou with numerous resources in order to increase capacity while remaining lean. She’s has since been retained for monthly accountability/check-in calls as well as consultative support for any questions that arise.
